Getting Around in Spain
Most people choose to drive themselves around Spain as driving is much like it is in the US. However, there are many different sizes of coaches available for small and large groups who want to relax and let someone else do the driving. Drivers in Spain generally do not speak English, so you need to request one that does or request a guide, if you do not speakSpanish. A good guide has a way of understanding what a group is like within just a few minutes. They'll lead you to great restaurants, nightlife and sightseeing that you might not have found on your own. Ask
a Golfpac representative to price your quote with a driver or a driver and guide!
Rental cars are easy to obtain but are generally smaller than
most American rental cars. It is necessary to carry with you a
valid driver's license and a credit card (used only as a
guarantee) as the rental car company will require both at the
time of rental. The renter must be over the age of 21 and a
young-driver surcharge applies for drivers between 21 and 25
years of age.
Speed Limits
75 mph/120 kph on a dual motorway and 55mph/90 kph on single
two-lane, 30 mph/50 kph in built-up areas, or as otherwise
directed by road signs.
Drinking & Driving
The Spanish Police strongly enforce and offer one simple
precaution don't drink and drive.
Seat Belts
Drivers and front seat passengers must, by law, wear a seat belt
in Spain. Rear seat passengers are also required to wear seat
belts if the car is equipped with them.
