Accommodations

Scotland - West Coast

We divide our hotels into three basic categories, Country Homes, First-Class Hotels, and Deluxe Hotels. Below is a brief description of each type of accommodation.

Country Homes - Our most requested style of accommodation. Country homes and manors are small hotels offering fine accommodations and good values. A great way to meet the locals!

First-Class Hotels - Generally three and four-star hotels that offer more spacious accommodations and more facilities than the country homes. Most of our first-class hotels also command great locations close to or overlooking some of the world's best golf courses!

Deluxe Hotels - Elegant hotels for the discerning traveler. If you are looking for the very best the area has to offer, these hotels are for you.

Cameron House

This magnificent Georgian house has been turned into an elegant hotel situated among 108 acres of lawns, gardens, and woodland which stretch for more than a mile along the banks of Loch Lomond. In addition to excellent leisure facilities (clay pigeon shooting, squash, tennis, croquet, etc.), there is also a private marina where various water sports are available.

Enterkine Country House

This privately owned, luxury five star country house hotel in the heart of Ayrshire is a hidden treasure. Approached by a long, winding avenue flanked by mature trees, you will feel you are leaving the real world behind. The trees part to reveal an elegant house, built originally as a private residence in the late 1930s, and now enjoying a new role as a beautifully appointed country house hotel.

Highgrove House

St. Andrews Royal and Ancient Bridge Located about 35 minutes southwest of Glasgow, just outside the town of Troon, is this charming accommodation. The small hotel features nine comfortable bedrooms all attractively decorated with the expected amenities. The building was originally built by a retired sea captain who picked the hillside location because of the view toward the Firth of Clyde. The Highgrove and its sister hotel, the Lochgreen House, are both well known in the area for their superb restaurants.

Lochgreen House

In the seaside town of Troon you'll find the Lochgreen House, set in its own grounds just off the Ayr/Prestwick Road. Built in 1905 by a Glasgow lawyer, this impressive house sits on 16 acres in the heart of Ayrshire's Burns Country. Lived in by several notable families, Lochgreen has been fully restored to a deluxe country house hotel. Oak panels are featured strongly throughout the hotel with the finest examples being the magnificent entrance hall and the main restaurant. In addition, the hotel restaurant is well known for having excellent food and service.

North Beach Hotel

St. Andrews Royal and Ancient Bridge Located in the seaside town of Prestwick, the North Beach Hotel offers comfortable accommodations across from Prestwick Golf Club. This small, family-run hotel features 12 bedrooms distinctively designed to compliment the classical features of the hotel. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast and dinner and the bar offers a large selection of malt whiskies.

The Marine Hotel

Marine at Troon Prior to the 2004 British Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club, The Marine Hotel (which sits adjacent to the 18th hole) underwent a full refurbishment. All 89 bedrooms and public areas were upgraded with sixteen new rooms being created. Looking out over the golf course towards the Isle of Arran, The Marine offers good accommodation and food along with a health and fitness club. From a golfer's viewpoint, the best thing about this hotel is its proximity to Royal Troon—accessible through the hotel fence!

Turnberry Resort

The Westin Turnberry Located down the Ayrshire coast—about an hour southwest of Glasgow— is this magnificent deluxe hotel. One of the finest hotels in the United Kingdom, Turnberry offers tremendous views of two championship courses, the Isle of Arran, and the Ailsa Craig (a 1208-ft.-high rock island). Amenities include 132 distinctively decorated bedrooms in the main hotel, lodges and cottages, world-class spa facilities, all-weather tennis courts, and restaurants for both formal and informal dining.

Village at Machrihanish Dunes - Ugadale Cottages

Surrounded by unparalleled natural beauty and tranquility, The Ugadale Cottages are an idyllic sanctuary for those who choose to celebrate life to its fullest. Designed to fit into the landscape and mirror the traditional buildings in western Scotland, each two-bedroom golf cottage has been built from the finest natural materials and appointed with an eye toward casual elegance. The cottages are fully furnished and finished to the highest standard and have a central living area and a kitchenette along with two bedrooms with either two twins or a zip king configuration and en suite bathroom. The Ugadale Cottages are fully serviced and professionally managed.
