Loch Ness
This 24-mile long, one-mile wide, 750-feet deep loch contains the largest volume of fresh water of any lake in the British Isles. A drive along the A82 can lead to a sighting of Nessie, the loch's famous inhabitant. The Loch Ness Lodge Visitor Center provides a movie about Loch Ness, its history and myth.

Inverness Museum and Art Gallery
The museum interprets the social and natural history, archaeology and culture of the Highlands. The museum includes collections of Highland silver, bagpipes, and Jacobite relics.

St. Andrew's Cathedral
This Gothic style Cathedral Church was built in the 1860s. It was the first cathedral to be built in this style since the Reformation. Located in Inverness.

Cawdor Castle
The 14th century home of the Thanes of Cawdor. Shakespeare depicted Cawdor Castle as the place where Macbeth stabbed King Duncan. Featured here are a drawbridge, a tower built around a tree, a freshwater well inside the house, gardens, nature trails, a pitch-and-putt golf course, a picnic area, snack bar, licensed restaurant, and gift shop. Located near Nairn.

Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Center
Site of the last pitched battle fought in Britain where Bonnie Prince Charlies cause was finally crushed by apposing forces. The full, harrowing story is told at the visitor's center in a multi-media show produced by the National Trust for Scotland. Located 5 miles east of Inverness.

Malt Whisky Distilleries & the Malt Whisky Tour
This region is known throughout the world for its whisky and there are numerous distilleries that you can visit and sample the product. The Malt Whisky Trail is a signposted 70-mile road tour which visits eight different distilleries.
