Gleneages
Arrive Scotland (Edinburgh or Glasgow), where you'll be met by a Golfpac International representative who will help secure your rental car and answer any last minute questions. From the airport travel to Gleneagles (1 hour 30 minutes from either airport) and your hotel for check-in. This evening, you'll be met at the hotel by Golfpac's professional tour manager for a Scottish welcome and tour briefing.

King's Course

The Kings Course at Gleneagles was designed by the great James Braid in 1919 and is considered to be one of the best inland courses in Scotland. Although not long by American standards (6,471 yards, par 71), the hills and bunkers make shot selection very difficult.

Friday, July 17

Northern Belle Train
Board the Orient-Express Northern Belle and depart the Gleneagles Station at 7:00 AM (approx.). Enjoy morning tea and coffee service after boarding. After a brief stop at the Edinburgh Waverly Station, a champagne Bellini with full Scottish breakfast will be served enroute to Turnberry. Arrive Maybole Station at approximately 11:20 AM where a coach transfer service will take you to Turnberry (15 minute transfer). Attend The Open Championship (entry tickets and program included). At 5:45 PM a return coach transfer from Turnberry to Maybole Station will take place. A champagne reception to welcome guests back on board awaits you. At 6:30 PM (approx) the Orient-Express Northern Belle departs Maybole Station. Canapes and a sumptuous four-course dinner with a bottle of wine, per two passengers, will be served on the journey back. Arrive back at the Gleneagles Station at approximately 10:00 PM. Transport back to the hotel.

Kingsbarns
Travel towards St. Andrews today (1 hour 15 minutes) for a round of golf at Kingsbarns.

This relatively new course (opened for play in 2000) is already recognized as one of the most exciting links courses in the world. Built along a stretch of shoreline near St. Andrews, the layout has drawn great praise from golf critics everywhere. It has already donned the cover of Links Magazine and was rated by many Golfpac travelers as their favorite course in Scotland! Rated #61 in the world by Golf Magazine (2007).
*The Orient-Express Northern Belle can also be taken into Turnberry today (please inquire if interested, cost of Saturday train not included).

PGA Centenary Course

The PGA Centenary Course (7081 yards, par 72), formerly the Monarch Course, is Gleneagles' newest course. It was designed by Jack Nicklaus and is the longest inland course in Scotland. It begins by playing southeast towards the famed glen of the eagles sweeping up the Ochil Hills to the summit of the pass below Ben Shee. A trademark of the course is the feast of views of the spectacular countryside and the Grampian mountains in the distance. Site of the 2014 Ryder Cup.

Fine dining is a highlight of every journey aboard the Northern Belle and when visiting Britain's greatest cities, gardens, castles and sporting events aboard these luxury trains, the journey is as exciting as the destination. Train Carriages and Configuration:
The Orient-Express Northern Belle comprises 6 dining carriages (Alnwick, Belvoir, Chatsworth, Glamis, Harlech, Warwick) with a maximum of 252 passengers. Each carriage seats 42 guests and contains tables of two and four, with plenty of room for guests to move around and enjoy the train's sociable atmosphere.

Savour a delightful feast for all the senses and relish the elegant setting of your unique Orient-Express carriage. Your table, set with starched white cloth, shining silverware and glittering crystal reflects an attention to detail that is breathtaking. The chefs prepare the most delicious meals from the finest ingredients available. Each meal is accompanied by the finest wines and champagnes, expertly selected by the sommelier. If you have any special dietary requirements please notify us at the time of booking.
Important Notes:
Timings: The train operates within the constraints of the rail network and confirmed departure and arrival timings will be announced 7 days prior to the date of travel. All timings shown are for guidance only and confirmed timings will be communicated to you once these timings are received.
Wardrobe Notes: Smart casual but no jeans/denims, trainers or golf shoes are permitted on board. Passengers are welcome to bring a change of shoes if required.
Seating: Seating is at tables of two and four. Passengers may be paired up accordingly.
Smoking: Orient-Express operates a no smoking policy aboard its UK trains.
Mobile Phones: Out of consideration for fellow passengers, it is requested that mobile phones be switched off during the journey.
Disabled Passengers: We regret that the carriages cannot be boarded in wheelchairs. However, staff will be available to assist any passengers to their seats and folding wheelchairs can be stored in the vestibules.
Drinks On Board: Beverages consumed over and above those listed will be charged to passengers on the day.
Reservation Procedures:
- Simply call, write, or fax us with your inquiry.
- 30% per person deposit required.
- Hotels, golf courses, and ground transportation confirmed. All courses and hotels based on availability at time of booking.
- Full payment due 90 (ninety) days prior to arrival. Approximately 2-4 weeks prior to your departure you will receive all necessary travel documents. Method of Payment: U.S. currency in the form of agency checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
Cancellations:
Cancellations after deposit/payment should be made in writing.
- Time of reservation to 181 days prior to departure: Full deposit forfeited.
- 180 - 91 days prior: 50% of tour package plus any additional non refundable fees.
- 90 days or fewer prior: Full payment forfeited.
Exchange Rates:
Tour prices are based on exchange rates effective at time quotation and are subject to change. It may be necessary to add a surcharge to the price of your vacation if fluctuations in the exchange rate deem it necessary. Once full payment has been received surcharges may not be levied.
Refunds:
Refunds will not be given for unused portions of any tour.
