2009 Northwest Ireland Challenge

In conjunction with The North American Golf Tour Operators' Alliance, Golfpac International is pleased to offer you the opportunity to play spectacular links courses while experiencing the beauty of the Irish countryside and bountiful sites. Join golfers from all over for a week filled with fun both on and off the course including nightly entertainment. To add to the excitement, you'll compete for prizes daily at Carne Golf Links, County Sligo Golf Club, Enniscrone Golf Club and Connemara Championship Links.
The tournament format is based on two-person teams, Stableford Scoring, better ball. The best score for each hole will count as the team score. Maximum handicap utilized for scoring will be 24 for men, 28 for ladies. Overall winners will be the teams with the highest accumulated points over the four tournament rounds. Daily team prizes to be awarded: 1st Net. Overall team prizes awarded: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Net and 1st & 2nd Gross.

Depart the States for Ireland, "The Emerald Isle."
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13
Downhill House Hotel
Arrive Ireland (Shannon), where you'll be met by a Golfpac International/NAGTOA representative who will help with the transfer to your private motor coach. From the airport travel to County Mayo and the town of Ballina (3 hours 30 minutes) and your first hotel for check-in. Optional golf this afternoon at Enniscrone Golf Club's 9 hole course (please inquire if interested).
Welcome drinks reception at the Downhill House Hotel this evening at 7:30 PM followed by dinner at 8:30 PM.

One of Ireland's best-kept secrets, Enniscrone (6,620 yards, par 72) is a little-known links course set on the shores of Killala Bay. The Eddie Hackett layout features all the characteristics of seaside golf with sand dunes, humps, hollows, thick rough, and fast greens.
Following golf enjoy lunch in the clubhouse. Optional sightseeing (depending on time of day) to the Foxford Wollen Mills.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15

Carne
Travel to Carne today (1 hour) for the start of the tournament.

About an hour west of Ballina, overlooking Blacksod Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, is Eddie Hackett's last great golf architectural achievement. Opened in 1995, the course is located on the isolated Belmullet Peninsula and is set amid some of Ireland's most rugged linksland. The scenery alone is worth a visit to Belmullet.
Following golf enjoy lunch in the clubhouse. Optional sightseeing (depending on time of day) to the Ceide Fields.

County Sligo Golf Club
Travel to County Sligo (45 minutes).

COUNTY SLIGO GOLF CLUB
Also known as Rosses Point, County Sligo Golf Club (6,603 yards, par 71) is considered by many people to be the best course in Ireland. This beautiful links offers superb views across Donegal Bay. From the 9th tee you can see five counties: Sligo, Donegal, Roscommon, Leitrim, and Mayo. Because of its remote location not many people get to Rosses Point, but it is well worth the visit.
Following golf enjoy lunch in the clubhouse. Optional sightseeing (depending on time of day) to Sligo Town, Drumcliffe Church and Visitor Center (Yeats Grave).

Enjoy lunch at Enniscrone following your round. Optional sightseeing today (depending on time of day) in Westport. Afterwards, travel to County Galway and the village Clifden (2 hours).

Connemara Golf Club
Travel to Connemara Golf Club for the final tournament round.

CONNEMARA GOLF CLUB
This par-72 links was designed by Eddie Hackett in the early 1970's and commands one of the world's most spectacular settings. The course is situated on the Atlantic Ocean with the Twelve Bens Mountains in the background. From the back tees it measures over 7,000 yards and can be an extremely tough test. The back nine is the real attraction here with particularly testing par threes.
Following golf enjoy lunch in the clubhouse. Optional sightseeing (depending on time of day) at Kylemore Abbey.
This evening the final dinner and prize presentation will take place at Abbeyglen Castle Hotel.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19
Your wonderful trip has come to an end. Travel back to Shannon Airport (2 hour 30 minutes) for a return flight to the States.

NECESSARY FOR BOOKING:
When confirming a reservation the following information is needed:
- Full names of everyone in the party & a rooming list.
- Each golfer's handicap and home golf club name.
- Flight information (arrival & departure).
RESERVATION PROCEDURES:
- Simply call, write, or fax us with your inquiry.
- 30% per person deposit required.
- Hotels, golf courses, and ground transportation confirmed. Tour space is based on availability at time of booking.
- Full payment due 60 (sixty) days prior to arrival. Approximately 2-4 weeks prior to your departure you will receive all necessary travel documents.
METHOD OF PAYMENT:
U.S. currency in the form of agency checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
CANCELLATIONS:
Cancellations after deposit/payment should be made in writing. A $500 per person fee will be charged plus expenses incurred, such as non-refundable golf and hotel deposits.
Additional cancellation penalties:
- 180-60 days prior to departure: Full deposit forfeited.
- 59-28 days prior: 50% of total package price forfeited, plus any non-refundable fees.
- Thereafter: Full payment forfeited.
EXCHANGE RATES:
Tour prices are based on exchange rates effective at time quotation and are subject to change. It may be necessary to add a surcharge to the price of your vacation if fluctuations in the exchange rate deem it necessary. Once full payment has been received surcharges may not be levied.
REFUNDS:
REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN FOR UNUSED PORTIONS OF ANY TOUR.
