St. Andrews Summer Break

Day 1
Depart the States for Scotland, “The Home of Golf.”

Day 2
Arrive Scotland (Edinburgh), where you’ll be met by a Golfpac International representative who will answer any last minute questions before transferring you to your private vehicle with driver. From the airport travel to St. Andrews (1 hour 15 minutes) and check-in at Rusacks Hotel for the next four nights.

This evening, you’ll be met at the hotel by Golfpac’s professional tour manager for a Scottish welcome and tour briefing.

ACCOMMODATION: MACDONALD RUSACKS HOTEL, ST ANDREWS
Commanding one of the greatest locations in golf, adjacent to the 18th hole of the Old Course and the Royal & Ancient Clubhouse, Rusacks is one of our most popular accommodations. Always superbly maintained, the four-star hotel has a traditional Scottish flair with outstanding amenities and public rooms. The hotel originally opened for business in 1887 and continues to impress visitors with its terrific hotel staff, outstanding restaurant, and a lively bar. Standard room

Day 3
Travel to Crail (20 minutes) via a private transfer (return transfer included).

GOLF: CRAIL GOLFING SOCIETY - BALCOMIE COURSE
The Crail Golfing Society has been playing golf over the links at Balcomie since the late 1700s. Balcomie -- the original 18 at Crail -- is often recognized for the standard of its greens. Although not long by today’s standards, the links can be a difficult test when the wind blows off the North Sea. It’s truly a joy to play. Crail is located 10 miles southeast of St. Andrews along the southern Fife coastline.

Overnight at Rusacks Hotel, St. Andrews (standard room).

Day 4
No transfer necessary today as you can walk down for a round of golf on the New Course at St. Andrews.

GOLF: ST. ANDREWS - NEW COURSE Enjoy a round on the New Course at St. Andrews, which was designed by Old Tom Morris in 1894. At 6,604 yards, many locals consider this par-71 layout as tough a test as the Old Course itself. The best holes are at the turn, meandering through some of St. Andrews' largest dunes. Please note: To play the Old Course, you also have to play one of the other courses in St. Andrews.

Overnight at Rusacks Hotel, St. Andrews (standard room).

Day 5
Golf today will be on hallowed ground as you’ll play the Old Course at St. Andrews.

GOLF: ST. ANDREWS - OLD COURSE The Old Course was site of the 2005 Open, which saw Tiger Woods capture his second Open Championship on the Old Course. It was the 27th time that St. Andrews has hosted the Open. Walking up the 18th fairway toward the "Valley of Sin" and the Royal & Ancient Clubhouse is a thrill that every avid golfer should experience. Please note: Tee times here can be difficult to arrange in advance; please see itinerary notes. Also, the Old Course has handicap restrictions of 24 or lower for men and 36 or lower for women.

Overnight at Rusacks Hotel, St. Andrews (standard room).

Day 6
Your wonderful trip has come to an end. Travel back, via a private transfer, to Edinburgh Airport for a return flight to the States.

Tee Times At St. Andrews:

Consult with a Golfpac representative about available Old Course tee times. Unless a tee time has been reserved and announced in advance, tee times at St. Andrews are arranged through ‘the ballot’ on the day before play. At that time, a representative will advise you of the status of your tee time. At Golfpac, we realize how important playing golf at St. Andrews is to most groups. Over the past few years, tee times have become harder to guarantee on the Old Course, but we feel our success rate is second to none.

Important Note: Certain tee times for St. Andrews carry a £ 70 (British Pounds) supplement which would be added to the final invoice. This fee is reimbursed in the form of a voucher, which is good for merchandise and food in the St. Andrews Links Clubhouse.
