KINGSBARNS
This relatively new course (opened 2000) is already recognized as one of the most exciting links courses in the world. It has already donned the cover of Links Magazine and was rated by many Golfpac travelers as their favorite course in Scotland! The course is ranked #61 in the world by Golf Magazine (2009 rankings).

GOLF:

St. Andrews - New Course
ST. ANDREWS - NEW COURSE
Enjoy a round on the New Course at St. Andrews, which was designed by Old Tom Morris in 1894. At 6,604 yards, many locals consider this par-71 layout as tough a test as the Old Course itself. The best holes are at the turn, meandering through some of St. Andrews' largest dunes.
Please note: To play the Old Course, you also have to play one of the other courses in St. Andrews.

GOLF:

St. Andrews - Old Course
ST. ANDREWS - OLD COURSE
Golf today will be on hallowed ground as you'll play the Old Course at St. Andrews. The Old Course was site of the 2005 Open, which saw Tiger Woods capture his second Open Championship on the Old Course. The 2010 Championship was the 28th time that St. Andrews has hosted the Open. Walking up the 18th fairway toward the “Valley of Sin” and the Royal & Ancient Clubhouse is a thrill that every avid golfer should experience.
Please note: Tee times here can be difficult to arrange in advance; please see itinerary notes. Also, the Old Course has handicap restrictions of 24 or lower for men and 36 or lower for women.
Following golf travel to Gleneagles (1 hour 15 minutes).
ACCOMMODATION:

Gleneagles
GLENEAGLES HOTEL
Located at the foothills of the Grampian Mountains, about an hour from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, is Gleneagles. A Leading Hotels of the World member, this five-star luxury hotel stands on its own 830-acre estate surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Perthshire countryside. Amenities here include 270 bedrooms, three championship golf courses, The Gleneagles Shooting School, the British School of Falconry, off-road driving, tennis, a health spa, an exclusive shopping arcade, a bank, a post office, a salon, five restaurants, an equestrian center, and fishing on River Tay. “There's only one Gleneagles.”
THURSDAY
GOLF:

Gleneagles - King's Course
GLENEAGLES - KING'S COURSE
King's Course at Gleneagles is designed by the great James Braid in 1919, The King's is considered to be one of the best inland courses in Scotland. Although not long by American standards (6,471 yards, par 71), the hills and bunkers make shot selection very difficult.
ACCOMMODATION:
GLENEAGLES HOTEL
FRIDAY
Depart Gleneagles and travel to Turnberry (2 hours 30 minutes) for your final two nights.
GOLF:

Kintyre Course
KINTYRE COURSE
Step out of the hotel and enjoy 18 holes on the newly redesigned Turnberry's Kintyre Course. The Kintyre, like its sister course (the Ailsa), is a very good test of golf. Though not as long as the Ailsa, accurate tee shots are required to keep your ball on the narrow fairways. In addition, wayward irons are punished by well-guarded green-side bunkers.
ACCOMMODATION:

The Turnberry Resort
TURNBERRY RESORT
Located down the Ayrshire coast — about an hour southwest of Glasgow — is this magnificent five-star deluxe hotel. A Luxury Collection Resort, this property is one of the finest hotels in the United Kingdom. Turnberry offers tremendous views of two championship courses, the Isle of Arran, and the Ailsa Craig (a 1208-ft.-high rock island). Amenities include 132 distinctively decorated bedrooms in the main hotel, lodges and cottages, world-class spa facilities, all-weather tennis courts, and restaurants for both formal and informal dining.
SATURDAY
GOLF:

Turnberry's Ailsa Course
TURNBERRY'S AILSA COURSE
Of all the courses you'll play in Scotland, the Ailsa at Turnberry may turn out to be your favorite as well as the most challenging. The unrelenting links course follows a craggy shoreline from holes four through 11 with some of the most unforgettable views in all of golf. The Ailsa Craig, 11 miles out to see, is a constant companion as you grind your way through the dunes of the Ayrshire coast. The course is ranked #17 in the world by Golf Magazine (2009 rankings).
The Ailsa is on the British Open rota and is particularly memorable for the famous Nicklaus-Watson duel in the 1977 Open. The course was tamed by a brilliant, but dry summer and the two golf giants battled for four days. Watson prevailed to the delight of the huge crowds that followed their every move. It was one of the great head-to-head matches of all time.

TEE TIMES AT ST. ANDREWS:
Unless a tee time has been reserved and announced in advance, tee times at St. Andrews are arranged through ?the ballot? on the day before play. At that time, a representative will advise you of the status of your tee time. At Golfpac, we realize how important playing golf at St. Andrews is to most groups. Over the past few years, tee times have become harder to guarantee on the Old Course, but we feel our success rate is second to none.
Important Note: Certain tee times for St. Andrews carry a #70 (British Pounds) supplement which would be added to the final invoice. This fee is reimbursed in the form of a voucher, which is good for merchandise and food in the St. Andrews Links Clubhouse.
